How to Remove Scratches from a Phone Screen

Is your iPhone or Android screen scratched? This is a very common issue that can range from surface-level damage to severe failure of your device. While severe scratches typically require a screen replacement, you can remove and fix mild scratches at home. You can try buffing them out with toothpaste (if the screen is plastic), glass polish (if the screen is glass), or erasers. This wikiHow will show you how to get rid of scratches on your mobile device screens.

[Edit]How do you get scratches off your phone?

Get scratches off of your phone by buffing a plastic screen with toothpaste, wiping a glass screen with glass polish, or gently scrubbing a plastic or glass screen with an eraser.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]Using Toothpaste

  1. Have toothpaste at the ready. Toothpaste should already be a standard part of your medicine cabinet and morning routine. Designed to be abrasive, toothpaste can fix a plastic scratch the same way it cleans teeth. Because it is home-based and shouldn't require additional purchases, toothpaste is the recommended remedy for fixing plastic scratches. It's important to make sure the toothpaste is an actual paste, as opposed to a gel-based toothpaste.[1] In order for the scratch to work, the toothpaste needs to be abrasive. Check your toothpaste box if you're unsure about the kind of toothpaste you are using.
Remove Scratches from a Phone Screen Step 1 Version 8.jpg
    • A baking soda mixture has the same abrasive qualities as toothpaste. If you'd rather use baking soda, you can stir up a paste with two parts baking soda and one part water. Use it in the same manner.
  2. Dab the toothpaste with an applicator.[2] Because this is a home-based remedy, there aren't any set rules of applicator you need to use. A soft cloth, paper towel, cotton swab or toothbrush can all suit your purposes in this instance. When you dab the toothpaste, you should only use a pea-sized amount. Any more will create an unwieldy mess on your phone.

  3. Apply toothpaste to the scratch. Once you've got your dab of toothpaste, rub it around in a gentle, circular motion. Continue doing this until the scratch is barely noticeable. Since the toothpaste is abrasive on its own, you won't need to apply too much pressure. Keep at the scrubbing until you start to see progress. Even if the scratch is too significant to be done away with entirely, the abrasion should reduce the scratch.

    • If your scratch is significant enough, toothpaste won't be enough to fix it. Even so, it should at least reduce the look of most scratches.
    • If the scratches are severe, you can protect the cracked screen until you're able to get it replaced.
    • You can also protect a curved phone screen.
  4. Clean your phone. Once the scratch is reduced to your liking, it's a simple process of cleaning off the toothpaste. Taking a soft, slightly damp cloth and wiping away the excess toothpaste is a good start. From there, you should take a polishing cloth and wipe away any dirt or oils that have otherwise built up on your screen. By doing this, you'll renew the look of your phone, and hopefully make your phone look better than even before the scratch.

    • Some methods may worsen your scratches or fail to improve them, such as: coconut oil, petroleum jelly, and powdered cleansers. Beware of these methods.
    • If the damage worsens, you will need to fix your phone screen.

[Edit]Using Glass Polish

  1. Purchase a cerium oxide polish. If your phone has a glass screen (instead of a plastic one) you'll have to use a more heavy-duty solution than toothpaste or baking soda to get scratches off your phone. In this case, a cerium oxide polish is recommended. This type of polish can be bought as a soluble powder, or in a pre-mixed form. While the pre-mixed polish is obviously the more convenient option, you'll get much better value if you buy it in its powdered form.
Remove Scratches from a Phone Screen Step 5 Version 6.jpg
    • 100g of cerium oxide powder should be more than enough when it comes to polishing your phone screen. You may want to buy a larger amount in the event of future scratching.
  2. Mix your powder into a slurry. If you bought powdered cerium oxide, you'll first need to prep the mix yourself. Luckily, this is very easy, and likely worth the money you'll be saving. Pour some powder (approx. 50-100g) into a small container. Slowly add water until the solution has the consistency of dairy cream. Mix regularly as you add the water in order to make sure your measurements are correct.

    • Measurements don't have to be perfect in the case of this polish, so long as you make sure there's enough water for the polish to soak into an applicator.
    • This step can be disregarded completely if you buy a pre-mixed polish.
  3. Block off all vulnerable spots with tape. A cerium oxide polish will do a number on your device if it seeps into any of the phone's holes, including the speaker, headphone jack or charger input. It can also potentially endanger your phone's cam lens. With that in mind, you should first cordon off the area you'd like to have polished with tape. Cover up whatever parts of your phone that might have problems if they're touched by the polish.

    • Taping up your phone before cleaning may seem overzealous, but it's highly recommended you follow through with this step before proceeding forward. In the case of a foul-up, your phone can be quickly wrecked otherwise.
  4. Apply the polish to the scratched area. Dab a smooth polishing cloth in your cerium oxide mix, and rub the scratched area in a vigorous, circular motion. Regularly check to see how the scratch is looking as you tend the area. Every 30 seconds or so, it's a good idea to wipe away the mix with the opposite end of your cloth, dab the cloth in new polish, and repeat the process for maximum effectiveness.

    • When applying an abrasive polish, you'll want to go harder with the application than if you were simply cleaning it. Make sure not to go too hard, however. There would be nothing worse than causing new cracks in the screen while you're trying to fix old ones.
  5. Give your phone a follow-up clean. Once you've applied and cleaned off the polish, it won't hurt to give your phone a quick once-over with a polishing cloth. This will wipe away any excess debris caused by the polish process. Remove the tape you added before polishing and wipe your phone. It doesn't need to take more than a minute or two to do thoroughly, but you may be impressed how much nicer your phone looks once you've wiped away the excess muck.

    • You should wipe your screen regularly. Twice a day may sound like a lot, but it only takes a second, and will ensure your screen stays healthy.

[Edit]Using Magic Eraser or Pencil Eraser

  1. Understand the risks. This method may strip the oleophobic coating of your phone, which is the coating that protects all modern smartphone screens and makes them scratch-resistant.[3]
Remove Scratches from a Phone Screen Step 10 Version 6.jpg
    • Only use this method if you plan to replace the oleophobic coating or install a screen protector afterwards.
  2. Prepare your eraser. This method will only be effective against minor scratches.

    • If you're using a Magic Eraser, be sure to wet the sponge to soften the abrasiveness. Squeeze out excess water.
    • If you're using a pencil eraser, be sure you're using a new eraser without any graphite markings.
  3. Using the eraser, gently scrub your screen in small circles. Continue this until the scratches lessen or disappear. Results can take up to a minute of scrubbing.

    • This method will only work for minor, surface-level scratches.
    • This may lessen the appearance of deeper scratches, but it may not remove them entirely.
  4. Wipe your screen clean. Make sure there is no leftover residue or eraser shavings. The scratches on your phone screen should be improved.
Remove Scratches from a Phone Screen Step 13.jpg
    • Be sure to apply a new oleophobic coating or install a screen protector.

[Edit]Preventing Scratches

  1. Purchase a screen protector.[4] Cellphones have never been so fragile and prone to scratching as they are today. Screen protectors are commonplace, and you should invest in one if you're the slightest bit worried about damaging your phone. Common phone protectors aren't generally too expensive, and they'll be much more affordable than replacing your screen or phone if the damage is bad enough. Higher-end protectors are virtually unbreakable, while affordable brands will at least take damage so your phone proper won't have to.
Remove Scratches from a Phone Screen Step 14.jpg
    • Between a plastic screen protector and tempered glass protector, you are better off investing in the latter.[5] Tempered glass protectors offer better durability, visibility, and comfortable feel.[6]
    • Applying a screen protector will give additional protection to your device.
  2. Wipe your screen regularly. Small scratches can occur on your screen if you leave excess debris on your screen. Wiping your screen clean with a microfiber or silk cloth a couple times per day will keep your phone screen looking its best. Wiping your screen is especially useful if your phone is a touchscreen, as built-up oils and fingerprints can smudge the screen and blur it up.
Remove Scratches from a Phone Screen Step 15.jpg
    • Using clothes fabric like a shirt sleeve or even a dishcloth can also work as screen wipers, although ideally you'll want the smoothness of silk or microfiber when it comes to maintaining your screen.
  3. Stow your phone somewhere safe. Most of the time your phone is scratched or damaged, you'll be on the go somewhere. It's important to consider where scratches come from and how they're most likely to be made. Put your phone in a separate pocket than your keys or coins. If possible, place your phone in a zip-up pocket to prevent it falling out accidentally.
Remove Scratches from a Phone Screen Step 16.jpg
    • Don't put your phone in your back pocket. On top of risking cracking if you sit down on it, there have been reports of it causing nerve problems due to the pressure it creates on your backside.[7]

[Edit]Video

[Edit]Tips

  • If your phone scratch is significant enough or you don't have the time to fix it yourself, you can consult a professional. However, replacing a phone screen can be expensive.
  • While you should be able to tell whether your screen is glass or plastic based on the difference in touch, looking up the model of phone you have (either online or via your user manual) should give indication as to what material you should use.[8]
  • There are new and upcoming types of phones branded as "self-healing" devices. The plastic in these phones will repair moderate scratches on their own. If you're particularly scratch-prone and like to keep your devices in peak condition, you may want to consider a self-healing model for your next phone purchase.[9]

[Edit]Warnings

  • If you choose to use a heavy-duty polish, you may end up scrubbing off part of the screen coating as well. Screen coating (such as an oleophobic coating) is there to reduce friction and increase comfort while using the device. Keep this in mind and weigh the pros and cons of polishing your screen.

How to Orange Cat Personality

Do the online tropes stand up to what science says about orange cats?

What is it about orange tabby cats that makes them so charming? If you’ve been on social media recently, you may have noticed people have strong opinions about the personality and intelligence of orange cats. While many think these ginger cats are a little weird or silly, they love them anyway. In this article, we cover characteristics commonly attributed to orange cats and whether there’s anything to the idea that they have a personality that’s different from other cats.

[Edit]Orange Tabby Cat Personality Traits

Orange cats have a reputation for being extra friendly, affectionate, independent, and playful. They’re also seen as funnier and sillier than other cats. Many owners believe their orange cats act differently than others, but there’s little evidence that’s true. Their personality is more linked to breed than color.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]What is the “orange cat personality”?

  1. Orange tabbies are said to be friendlier and sillier than other cats. The stereotypical orange cat is more affectionate, funnier, and weirder than other cats. Orange cats are also considered chattier, so much so that the owner is able to understand their meows. Many feel orange cats are strong-willed, and there’s some evidence that they are more likely to engage in risky behaviors that get them in some precarious (and sometimes hilarious) situations.[1]
    Orange Cat Personality Step 1.jpg
    • Owners feel the orange cat’s affectionate nature and strong love of treats make them more trainable.
    • In spite of their trainability, some believe orange cats, also known as ginger or marmalade cats, are not as smart as other cats and jokingly claim that all orange cats share one brain cell.[2]
    • However, others believe orange cats are very intelligent and can learn to open doors. Expert Animal Communicator Mari Cartagenova says, “They say that all orange cats share one brain cell. So they said they're kind of like the dumb blondes of the cat world, but that's not true. I have one, and he's very smart.”[3]
  2. “Orange cat personality” has become a popular internet meme. The Orange Cat Behavior” meme, also known as Orange Cats Share One Brain Cell, references the idea that orange cats are less intelligent, more affectionate, and more chaotic than other cats. Social media posts about orange cats have been posted since at least 2019 when Twitter user @ulat_bulu_bulu shared a post captioned “Orange cat is the crackhead of cat.”
    Orange Cat Personality Step 2.jpg
    • In December of 2021, Redditor throwawayorangecat posted on the /r/AmIthe*sshole subreddit about the adventures of an orange cat named Jorts that went viral.
    • In 2022, the meme spread to TikTok. Users began to share videos about orange cats sharing one brain cell between them.

[Edit]Is “orange cat behavior” real?

  1. Cat personalities are more strongly connected to breed than color. No studies show a strong connection between color and personality. Most of the studies showing any connection are based on the owner’s perception of their cat’s behavior, possibly due to confirmation bias.[4]
    Orange Cat Personality Step 3.jpg
    • Confirmation bias is when someone sees new information as a confirmation of their existing beliefs.[5]
    • It’s more likely that personality is related to breed. This is probably due to people breeding cats for appearance and a pleasant temperament.[6] Many breeds can have orange tabby markings, including:
      • American Curl
      • American Shorthair
      • British Shorthair
      • Cornish Rex
      • Devon Rex
      • Exotic Shorthair
      • LaPerm
      • Maine Coon
      • Manx
      • Munchkin
      • Norwegian Forest Cat
      • Ocicat
      • Oriental Shorthair
      • Persian
      • Scottish Fold
      • Selkirk Rex

[Edit]What are orange cats really like?

  1. Orange cats may take more risks than other cats. There’s some evidence they may engage in more risky behavior than other cat colors. Owners might interpret this risky behavior as their orange cat behaving in a way that’s less intelligent or more chaotic than cats who have other coat colors.[7]
    Orange Cat Personality Step 4.jpg
  2. Male orange cats tend to be less aggressive than females. Because the majority of orange cats are male, this may lead owners to believe orange cats are friendlier than tortoiseshells or calicos, which are mostly female. However, studies have shown little difference in aggression by cats with different coat colors or genders.[8]
    Orange Cat Personality Step 5.jpg
  3. Orange tabbies have individual personalities, just like other cats. Genetics, breed, training, stress levels, and socialization are all more influential to cat behavior than coat color.[9] Owners who say their orange cats are more active, playful, chaotic, chatty, or a little derpy are probably right…but that doesn’t mean all orange cats act that way. Some are laid-back, aloof, quiet, shy, or intelligent.
    Orange Cat Personality Step 6.jpg
    • One study showed that breed behavior differences accounted for most of the perceived differences between cats of different coat colors.[10]

[Edit]Do orange cats need any special care?

  1. In general, orange cats need the same care as other cats. Some believe they are more prone to weight gain, so consider limiting treats and feeding them high-quality cat food at set feeding times (instead of free feeding). To properly take care of your cat, make sure they get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation (a lot of these orange cuties have plenty of energy to play with!). Don’t skip regular check-ups at the vet to keep them healthy and up to date on vaccinations
    Orange Cat Personality Step 7.jpg
    • Orange cats tend to develop freckles as they become adults, so watch for any changes to their markings to identify potential skin cancer. You can do this during regular grooming sessions.

[Edit]What do orange tabbies look like?

  1. Orange tabbies are orange and white with stripes, spots, or patches. The orange color comes from a natural melanin pigment called pheomelanin, which is the pigment that causes red hair in humans. They commonly have freckles on their nose and mouth. Their coats range from a deep auburn shade to pale cream in one of 5 different pattern types:[11]
Orange Cat Personality Step 8 Version 2.jpg
    • Classic: The classic orange tabby pattern has orange and white stripes that create a swirl or bullseye near the cat’s midsection.
    • Mackerel: The Mackerel orange tabby is striped like a tiger with the classic “M” on their forehead.
    • Spotted: The spotted orange tabby’s stripes are broken up, so they look like a leopard.
    • Ticked: The ticked pattern appears to be a solid orange, but they have a speckled pattern with tabby markings on their heads.
    • Patched or Harlequin: These cats are mostly white with several large patches of orange tabby striped areas.[12]

[Edit]Are orange cats always male?

  1. 75-80% of orange tabbies are male. The gene for the orange color is carried on the X chromosome. Because male cats only have one X chromosome, they only need to inherit one copy of the gene associated with the orange color to have an orange tabby coat. Female orange tabbies are less common because they have to inherit two copies for the “orange gene” to be dominant.[13]
    Orange Cat Personality Step 9.jpg
    • There’s some evidence that male cats are more affectionate than females. Because more orange cats are male, this may contribute to the idea that they are friendlier than other cats.[14]
    • When female cats inherit only one “orange gene,” they become tortoiseshells or patched.
    • All orange cats are tabbies, but not all tabbies are orange. This is because of the way the “orange gene” interacts with the tabby (or agouti) gene, causing a faint tabby pattern to show even when the cat has two recessive tabby genes.[15]
    • There’s evidence that male orange cats tend to be slightly taller and wider than cats with other coat colors, but more study is needed.

[Edit]Orange Tabby FAQs

  1. Where did the orange tabby cat come from? No one is quite sure where the orange cat originated. Some believe they are descended from the Egyptian Mau cats that have been depicted on papyri and frescoes dating back to 1550 BC.[16]
    Orange Cat Personality Step 10.jpg
    • However, others feel the Egyptian Mau’s caramel coloring is not close enough to the orange tabby to be related.
  2. Are there any famous orange tabby cats? Famous orange tabbies like Morris the Cat, Milo, and Garfield may be responsible for some of the public perception about cats with orange coloring. Morris was the notoriously finicky mascot of the 9Lives cat food brand. He first appeared in commercials in 1969 and still appears in advertising for the brand.[17]
    Orange Cat Personality Step 11.jpg
    • British Prime Minister Winston Churchill received an orange tabby named Jock for his 88th birthday. He was so charmed by Jock that he decided an orange cat would always live at Chartwell, his family home. As of October 2020, Jock VII took up residence in the Churchill home.[18]
  3. Do orange cats have any health issues? Orange cats don’t appear to have any health issues that are not shared by other cats. However, some believe that orange tabbies may be more susceptible to skin cancer due to their lighter fur or because their freckles may mask cancer lesions.
    Orange Cat Personality Step 12.jpg
  4. What is “orange cat energy”? This is a slang term that refers to the supposed “chaotically stupid behavior” of orange cats. It’s used to describe a person who acts in the stereotypically zany manner of an orange cat.[19]
    Orange Cat Personality Step 13.jpg
    • There are also some who refer to an affectionate but chaotic partner as having “orange cat energy” or being an “orange cat boyfriend/girlfriend.”

How to Burnt Toast Theory

Let fate take the wheel with this unique theory on minor annoyances

You hop out of bed, put the coffee on, and throw some bread in the toaster. Something catches your attention and a few minutes later you can smell the toast burning. You decide your hunger is more important than being on time so you spend another 5 minutes making new toast. On your way to work, you see a giant crash on the highway. In fact, it’s right where you would have been had you left home on time. The inconvenience of the burnt toast saved you from a much greater tragedy. This is the burnt toast theory—the idea that small annoyances are the universe’s way of helping you or saving you from disasters. We’ll break it all down!

[Edit]Burnt Toast Theory Meaning

Burnt toast theory is the idea that minor annoyances and inconveniences are actually the universe’s way of preventing even worse things from happening (or causing good things to happen). The theory is based on the idea that having to remake toast in the morning can have major ramifications for the day.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]What is burnt toast theory?

  1. Burnt toast theory suggests that everyday annoyances could potentially prevent or remedy disasters. The burnt toast theory is a philosophical principle that the small, obnoxious distractions you encounter on a daily basis are actually saving you from much bigger catastrophes. Sometimes, those distractions may even benefit you! Sure, burning your toast is frustrating, but forcing you to remake your toast could be the universe’s way of keeping you safe from a potential harmful situation (like a car accident or running into a creepy ex).[1]
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 1.jpg
    • In other words, burnt toast theory suggests that the universe has your back—even when it seems like the little things aren’t going right.
    • Burnt toast theory is primarily an orientation towards the world. It’s not intended to be a literal explanation for a divine process. That said, it does have some parallels with the concept of karma, so if the burnt toast theory resonates with you on a spiritual level, good! You aren’t alone there.

[Edit]Examples of the Burnt Toast Theory

  1. You miss the bus but end up meeting someone cool on the next bus. It might be annoying to discover that you’ve missed the bus and need to wait another 15 minutes for the next one to show up, but if your crush happens to be sitting next to an open seat on the next bus and you get to hang out with them, maybe the wait was worth it!
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 2.jpg
  2. You get a flat tire but discover your brakes needed servicing. Nobody likes to waste 30 minutes changing out a flat tire, but say you get down to remove the old tire and notice your brake rotors are damaged. Maybe this flat tire prevented you from driving a car with failing brakes, which could have been really bad.
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 3.jpg
  3. Your phone dies while you’re out but you enjoy your screen time break. Say you head out to go meet some friends but your phone dies because you forgot to charge it last night. Annoyed, you put the phone in your pocket and wait for your buddies to show up. While you’re waiting, you actually look around and take your environment in. You enjoy the sun, take a deep breath of fresh air, and feel at ease. Maybe this was the break you needed to reset your headspace!
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 4.jpg
    • The burnt toast theory doesn’t only help you avoid negative events. It can also push you in a more positive direction towards where you need to go.

[Edit]Applying the Burnt Toast Theory

  1. Pause whenever something bad happens and take a deep breath. It’s easy to just react in the moment whenever something annoying happens, so try to start monitoring your emotions more thoughtfully and catch yourself before you start to spiral. In that moment of immediate anger or annoyance, just pause, take a deep breath, and accept the feeling.[2]
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 5.jpg
    • This takes practice! Don’t get annoyed if you start to try incorporating the burnt toast theory in your own life and you just can’t spot the “burnt toasts” when they come up. Stick with it. It gets easier.
  2. Let the inconvenience go and look for the next blessing. The gap time between your “burnt toast” and the benefit of this annoyance cannot be known ahead of time, so channel your inner Buddha and let the obnoxiousness float away. Look for the next pleasant surprise in your life!
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 6.jpg
    • Know that the annoying moment brought you to this point where you can be delighted with something good.
  3. Go forward knowing that everything happens for a reason. Once you’ve gotten used to applying the burnt toast theory in your own life, you’ll start to feel like everything is in balance. Whatever bad event happens will surely be matched with a good event in the future. There’s no need to get bent out of shape when things don’t go your way.
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 7.jpg

[Edit]Benefits of Using the Burnt Toast Theory

  1. It helps you cultivate self-compassion. When most people burn toast, they blame themselves—not the bread, the toaster, or whatever distracted them in the first place. By not treating “burnt toast” as something you did wrong and believing instead that the universe will sort itself out by rewarding you later on, you won’t be so hard on yourself.[3]
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 8.jpg
    • If you think everything’s your fault, you’re going to naturally be very critical of your own behavior. Burnt toast theory really requires putting your faith in the universe, and learning to let go can be a big life improvement!
  2. It encourages mindfulness, healthy thinking, and clarity. By monitoring the little hindrances and joys that happen to you, you’ll naturally be more present and mindful of your headspace. The fact that you’re removing blame from yourself at the same time should cultivate a more productive and healthy mindset.[4]
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 9.jpg
    • If you tend to fixate on negative things, burnt toast theory is a great way to reframe the way you think about mistakes and bad luck.
  3. It prompts you to let little things go. Miniature disasters aren’t so disastrous if you believe you’ve got something good waiting for you in the future. Even if it’s just avoiding a bigger hassle later, it can really take the venom out of something annoying. By embracing burnt toast theory, you’ll learn to treat minor annoyances like they’re nothing.
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 10.jpg
    • This should have the pleasant byproduct of minimizing the odds you get stuck in a bad mood. It’s hard to fixate on something that’s bugging you if you know it’s all part of the greater good.
  4. It helps you reframe your perception and attitude. By applying a more positive and productive energy to the little annoyances you encounter, you’ll cultivate a more relaxed and healthy orientation towards the world. It's easy to look at life as a chaotic, aggravating mess, but burnt toast theory may be able to help you look at life as a comfortable ride where things can and will go right.
    Burnt Toast Theory Step 11.jpg
    • It all comes down to your reaction to things. Burnt toast theory helps encourage more productive and accepting reactions to irritating things, which helps you move on from things that don’t help you so you can focus on the things that do.

[Edit]Video

[Edit]Tips

  • A TikTok creator created the idea of burnt toast theory. You can view the original explanation of the theory here on TikTok.
  • Burnt toast theory only applies to minor annoyances and inconveniences. It does not apply to serious trauma or life-changing obstacles. In fact, trying to spin serious issues into “glass half full” scenarios is often a form of toxic positivity.[5]

How to Identify AI Art

In the modern era, artificial intelligence (AI) has become widespread. Ever tried looking for an image, only to be flooded with AI-generated images? Even worse, sometimes it can be difficult to tell which images are AI and which are not. Luckily, there are a few tricks to figuring out what images are generated, and which are drawn.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]Identifying Through the Platform

  1. Consider the platform. Some websites are used only for AI. If an image is posted on an AI site, it can be determined to be an AI image. With social media such as Instagram or Tumblr, it can be a little more difficult.
    Identify AI Art Step 1.jpg
  2. Check the captions. Most social media will allow images to have a caption that describes the image. If the caption mentions the artwork being AI, or being created with a common AI software, then it can be determined to be an AI image
    Identify AI Art Step 2.jpg
  3. Look at the user. Some users will only post AI images. They will often have that in their username or user description
    Identify AI Art Step 3.jpg
  4. Analyze the tags for keywords. On most social media, pictures are categorized using hashtags. These often describe the image. There are certain keywords, such as “ai-art” or “stable-diffusion”, then it can be determined to be an AI image.
    Identify AI Art Step 4.jpg

[Edit]Identifying Through the Image Itself

  1. Check the features. Often, AI fails to draw features such as the eyes properly. The pupils may be misshapen or may bleed out of the eye itself. There may be too many fingers or not enough. However, some of these mistakes might also be made by beginner artists. Combine with later steps.
    Identify AI Art Step 5.jpg
  2. Look at the details of the clothing. Is there a clear start and stop to the clothes? Do certain elements of the outfits blend into each other? Most artists will not make this mistake. Clothing made by AI does not take into account the practicality of certain outfits.
    Identify AI Art Step 6.jpg
  3. Look at lighting. Is there a clear direction the light is coming from? Does the lighting of certain parts of the image differ from the rest of the image? It could be AI. However, sometimes this might be a stylistic choice.
    Identify AI Art Step 7.jpg
  4. Look at the shading. Do the brush strokes bleed into each other in a way that is unnatural? AI mimics the final product of an artwork, but does not understand its construction. Actual artworks will look layered in a way. An AI cannot put different layers of color onto a piece. This results in a piece that seems somewhat blended— there are no fully crisp lines. A single stroke shouldn’t have a gradient to it— that isn’t possible to do.
    Identify AI Art Step 8.jpg
  5. Look at the lines. Is this a piece with sharp outlines? AI often blends the outline of a piece with the colors in certain spots. It may also make non-sense lines that connect to nothing and do not add to the piece itself. Zoom in to the lines. If they are crisp, they are not likely to be AI.

How to Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend

[Edit]Things You Should Know

  • You can be romantic with your boyfriend in creative ways, such as by writing “I love you” in hidden or unexpected places for him to find or making him a mix CD or playlist.
  • Make him feel truly seen by bringing him thoughtful gifts or taking him out on a date someplace he’d love to go.
  • Keep the romance alive for the long term by spicing things up in the bedroom or by taking time apart to help you both appreciate each other more.

[Edit]Steps

[Edit]Being Creative

  1. Write "I love you" in unexpected places. Your boyfriend might expect you to write "I love you" at the end of a letter or a text message, but he won't expect to see it written in the steam after his shower, in the hot sauce on his morning omelet, or on a blank page of his notebook that he sees when he's about to take notes for class. Finding a creative and unique place to write "I love you" will make him think even more fondly of you when you're not there, and will make him feel more romantic because you've made a special effort to let him know that you care.

    • Just doing this once or twice a month can really show your boyfriend that you care. You don't have to overdo it.
  2. Make him a mix CD or playlist. Make a mix or curate a playlist of "your songs," or really take his musical tastes into account and create a mix of songs you think he would like. Play your mix in the car next time you’re driving together to give him a pleasant surprise.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 2 Version 5.jpg
    • Make sure you know what music he listens to, what music he already owns, and what he likes before you go and do this.
    • Don't recommend your favorite bands if you know they aren't his thing, even if you really want to!
  3. Make a scrapbook. Put together a scrapbook of all of your most meaningful memories. Add photos of you together, tickets from your favorite concert, a menu from the restaurant where you first said, "I love you," or notes that you wrote to each other throughout the course of your relationship. This can make a great anniversary or birthday gift, or you can give him the book just because.[1]
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 3 Version 6.jpg
    • This book will make him see how far you've come in your relationship, and will make him appreciate you even more.
    • This is also a gift to you! You can flip through your memory book for years to come.
  4. Celebrate Valentine's Day early (or late). Who says Valentine's Day is only for February 14th? If you're both busy that day, or if you just want to be romantic on a random Wednesday, then plan an celebrating Valentine's Day on whatever day works for you two; you can use this time to shower each other with love and affection, dress up, and eat something delicious.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 4 Version 5.jpg
    • This fake Valentine's Day will be extra fun because you both will feel like you're in on a joke.
  5. Act like little kids together. Little kids have an infinitive amount of wonder at the state of the world, along with a healthy dose of hope and optimism. So, take a day to just act like a kid with your boyfriend, and see how much your love for each other and the world grows when you do the silly things you loved to do as a kid. You two can go to a carnival, make balloon animals, finger paint, mud wrestle, or just do anything fun and silly that makes you feel more romantic and more alive. Here are some other things you can do:
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 5 Version 5.jpg
    • Blow soap bubbles
    • Bake cookies
    • Make macaroni and cheese
    • Watch fireworks
    • Eat cotton candy at a baseball game
    • Go to a water park
    • Make s'mores
  6. Take a pottery class together. Taking a pottery class with your boyfriend will be just as romantic as that one scene in Ghost—except it'll be even better because you'll both be alive. You'll be getting your hands dirty, learning something new, and creating something that you can bring home and put on your coffee table, however lopsided and misshaped your creation may be.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 6 Version 6.jpg
    • Not only will you have fun doing this, but you'll be developing even more affection for one another.
  7. Make a book of all of the emails you've written to each other. If you've spent a lot of time apart and have sent long emails to each other, or if you're just the kind of people who love sending each other emails, print out all of your sweet, funny, and romantic emails and put them in a book for your boyfriend. He'll read over all of your love notes and will remember all of the great times you've had and all of the memories you've shared.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 7 Version 4.jpg
    • An affectionate email can be just as romantic as a love note. Just punch holes in the emails and bind them together with thick colorful string and hand 'em over.

[Edit]Being Thoughtful

  1. Give him thoughtful gifts. Don't just give your boyfriend a six pack of his favorite beer and take him out to Pizza Hut. Put in a little effort to figure out what he really likes and cares about, and what gift would actually mean something to him, and what would surprise him and make him see that you've put an effort into the gift.[2] Remember that the best gifts are often given "just because," not for a birthday or another special occasion. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 8 Version 5.jpg
    • Does he love hiking or camping? Get him the latest camping or hiking gear, something he's been wanting for a while.
    • Does he love fine ales or wines? Get him a subscription to a beer or wine of the month club.
    • Is he a video game junkie? Get him a new game that's all the rage, or update his gaming equipment.
    • Is he a concert fanatic? Find out when his favorite band is coming to town before he does and get him some tickets.
  2. Write him thoughtful notes. Not every not-in-person communication has to come through a computer or a phone. If you're going to be apart for a day or two, or even for a few hours, write him a sweet note telling him how much he means to you or how much you'll miss him while you're apart. Just telling him to have a nice day and to let him know that you're thinking of him can make all the difference.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 9 Version 4.jpg
    • You can write your note on a post-it and put it on his mirror, put the note in his lunch bag, school bag, or work bag, or leave the note on his windshield. Part of the romance will come from the surprise.
  3. Take him on an extra-special date. Though you and your boyfriend can probably have fun no matter where you go, make an effort to plan some dates that are special and feel really romantic.[3] This depends on what you and your boyfriend like and the kinds of things that make you happy together. If you suggest a date that would be perfect for your boyfriend, then he'll be impressed by how much thought and effort you're putting into the relationship. Here are some ideas:
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 10 Version 5.jpg
    • Does your boyfriend love baseball? Take a trip to the batting cages together.
    • Is it snowing just a little bit? You're never too old to go ice skating.
    • If you both want to hang out but don't feel like going anywhere, cook your favorite meal together.
    • Spend a day out on the beach or near a lake. Being near or in a body of water will make you feel more romantic.
    • Think of the thing your boyfriend has always talked about doing. Make it happen.
  4. Do him favors. You may not think that doing your boyfriend's laundry on the week when he has a big exam coming up is very romantic, but he'll appreciate it. Romance isn't all about the grand gestures, but about the little things that show your boyfriend that you really care about him and want to make him happy. Ideally, of course, you’d both be doing each other favors; you don’t need to turn into his errand girl to win him over.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 11 Version 5.jpg
    • If he's having a really busy day, make him lunch or pick it up for him.
    • Step out in the morning to bring him back some coffee and muffins if you know he doesn't have anything to eat for breakfast.
    • If you're going to the store anyway, pick him up the few items he needs so you can save him the trip.
    • If he tends to be forgetful and has a big deadline coming up, remind him when it is to show him that you're paying attention.
  5. Take the time to understand his interests. This doesn't mean you have to tag along with him and his buddies to watch Monday night football. But it does mean making an effort to see why he cares about football or whatever other interests mean nothing to you. See what's behind his love for hiking, painting, historical non-fiction, comics, or whatever else makes him tick.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 12 Version 5.jpg
    • Ask him questions about these things, and see if you can come along as he explores his interests if they intrigue you. Now that's romantic.

[Edit]Being Affectionate

  1. Give your boyfriend affectionate touches. Make an effort to give your boyfriend reassuring, loving touches from time to time so he knows that you care about him.[4] Squeeze his hand at the movies; run your hand through his hair when you're waking up; give him a playful shove when you're teasing each other. Don’t be all over him all the time (especially if he’s not super into PDA); just pick the right moments to touch him, at least a few times a day.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 13 Version 5.jpg
    • Making that physical connection whenever it feels right is very romantic.
  2. Give him meaningful compliments. Don't just say, "You're so hot" or "I really like you." Let him know what it is that makes him feel so special to you. Tell him he has a great smile, that you love his sense of humor, that you admire his work ethic, or that you think he's so good at knowing exactly how you're feeling. Make a point of finding something new you like about him every so often and let him know how you really feel.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 14 Version 4.jpg
    • Compliments are best delivered in person, but you can also always tell him how you feel in a love note, email, or phone call.
  3. Show him affection when you're apart. If you're spending some time apart, whether it's a week or an entire summer, let him know you still care. This doesn't mean calling him 20 times a day to see what he's doing; just check in to let him know that you care and that you're thinking about him, at least once a day.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 15 Version 5.jpg
    • You don't have to talk on the phone every single day, if you're both busy and feel like you're just doing it to check an item off your list. But check in at least once a day when you're apart, whether it's by calling, texting, or emailing him.
    • Text him to let him know you're thinking of him.
    • If you both have video phones or Zoom, make a video date or two each week, so you can still see each other and remember how much you love being together.
    • So, suggest a casual game of 20 Questions when you're apart!
  4. Give him an unexpected six-second kiss at least once a day. Even if you're both tired, busy, or just not feeling affectionate, try to kiss each other at least once a day. Make the effort to give him just one six-second long kiss each day, and you'll be upping the romance factor in your relationship, and strengthening your bond as a couple.[5] Don't just give him a routine peck on the lips or cheek before you have to leave, but pick an unexpected time to kiss him.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 16 Version 4.jpg
    • Kissing is the most basic way to let your boyfriend know how much you care.
  5. Tell him why he's an amazing boyfriend. Don't forget to let him know exactly how much he means to you. Often, words are the best way to show affection. You can tell him in a letter, or tell him casually over dinner. Make a list of at least five things that make him an amazing boyfriend, and let him know exactly what these things are, so he really sees how much he means to you.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 17 Version 5.jpg
    • You can be even more spontaneous than that. If he does something that strikes you as amazing, just tell him what it is.
  6. Give him a massage. Giving your boyfriend a massage will not only kick up the sexiness factor in your relationship, but it will also be a great way of showing him affection and letting him see that you really care. If he comes back home after a long day or work or school, make him sit down and give him a good shoulder massage. You can move to his neck, his biceps, and his lower back. Help him relax and get all of those pesky knots out of his back, and he'll be feeling your lovin' for a long time.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 18 Version 5.jpg
    • For a longer and more intimate massage, have him lie on his stomach for you.

[Edit]Keeping the Romance Alive

  1. Never stop the courtship. Even if you and your boyfriend have been together for years, you can keep the magic alive by continually working to impress each other, chasing each other, and reminding each other why your relationship is so great. Don't just fall into the same old dull routine because it's "pretty good" and has been working thus far; take your relationship to the next level by always trying new things and keeping it interesting.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 19 Version 5.jpg
    • Don't stop telling each other how much you mean to each other.
    • Keep up your weekly "date nights," and make sure you leave the house for most of them.
    • Make sure you try something new together at least once a month, whether it's a new restaurant or a new sport.
    • Be spontaneous. Go on a random weekend trip you planned the night before; sign up for a salsa class at the last minute.[6]
  2. Tend to your looks. A solid relationship is about more than looks, and you don’t need to dress to the 9s regularly, but grooming yourself often and caring about your appearance shows your boyfriend you value him and the relationship (and hopefully he’s doing the same for you). Being intentional about your appearance has the added benefit of making you feel good, too.[7]
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 20 Version 5.jpg
    • You can make a point of dressing up extra nicely for some of your date nights, even if you're not going anywhere that fancy.
  3. Keep your bedroom in a sexy state. If you and your boyfriend are sleeping together, make sure you get together in a place that makes you feel romantic. If you can hook up in your bedroom, make sure that it's neat, clean, and that it feels like it's made just for you two to kiss each other; don't hook up near textbooks or the piles of folders you brought home from work. When you're getting intimate in the bedroom, intimacy should be the only thing on your minds.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 21 Version 5.jpg
    • Spice things up in the bedroom now and again too. If you’ve been together a while, sex might not feel as fresh or exciting as it used to, but you can breathe new life into your relationship by asking your boyfriend about his fantasies and sharing yours, and maybe trying to act out one of those fantasies.
  4. Maintain your independence. If you want to keep your relationship feeling fresh, then you and your boyfriend have to spend some time apart. If you're always together, then you won't have as much to talk about, and you won't be able to miss each other or appreciate each other when you're apart. No matter how close you are, it's important to [[Be-Independent-in-a-Relationship|maintain your independence. You can do this by pursuing your own interests and hanging out with your friends and families apart from each other from time to time.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 22 Version 4.jpg
    • Just going out with your friends without your boyfriend every week or two will help you appreciate him more.
    • Let your boyfriend go out and do his own thing now and again too and he'll appreciate you—and feel more romantic—even more.
  5. Do activities that raise your adrenaline together. If you and your boyfriend do something romantic together that gets your blood pumping and makes you feel good, you will be guaranteed to feel more sexy and romantic. This can take the form of any kind of exercise such as long walks, hiking, biking, running, yoga, ballroom dancing, or just going to the gym together.
Be Romantic with Your Boyfriend Step 23 Version 5.jpg
    • A couple that works out together stays together. And stays in shape.[8]
    • Raising your adrenaline will also put you in a better mood, and will make you more fond of the person you're with.
