How to Print from Chromebook

Chromebook devices lack a port that allows you to plug a printer directly into the computer. To connect a printer to your Chromebook, you must use Google's Cloud Print service to connect wirelessly to a Cloud-enabled printer, or to a conventional printer that is currently plugged into an Internet-connected Windows or Mac computer.

Steps

Connecting to a Cloud-Enabled Printer

1. Power on your Cloud-enabled printer.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   


2. Launch a Chrome browser session on your Chromebook.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   


3. Click on the Chrome menu button displayed at the top right corner of Chrome.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   


4. Click on “Settings.”
   
   
   
   
   
   
   


5. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and click on “Show advanced settings.”
   
   
   
   
   
   
   


6. Navigate to the section entitled, “Google Cloud Print” and click on “Add printers.”
   
   
   
   
   
   
   


7. Sign into your Google account at the prompt.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   


8. Click on “Add printer.” Your Chromebook will detect and add your Cloud-enabled computer to your Google account.
