This brownie recipe is gluten free. With a small change of the type of butter, you can also make it dairy free! Enjoy your chocolate with less guilt.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- Dash salt
- 1 cup gluten free flour
- 3/4 cup chocolate flavored syrup, canned
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- Walnuts or pecans for garnish
Steps
- In the bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and eggs. Do this until they are very well mixed together.
- Add the dash of salt.
- Chop up the nuts if they aren't already chopped.
- Stir in the flour. Make sure it is mixed thoroughly with the egg mixture.
- Add the chocolate syrup, vanilla, and chopped nuts. Mix.
- Thoroughly grease and flour the baking pan.
- Pour the mixture into the baking pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 35 minutes. Check that it is done by inserting a toothpick. If it comes out dry, the brownies are done.
- Loosen the brownies from the sides of the pan and let cool. Don't remove the brownies from the pan until they have cooled completely.
- Cut into squares and garnish with the remaining nuts.
Tips
- Alternatively, sprinkle powdered sugar on the brownies.

- Be careful with the hot pans and utensils. Use oven mitts when handling the baking pan.
